Ruby Slippers is a rounded form selected for its dense canopy and showy red samaras. The abundant bright red fruit is persistent, hanging in pairs like ballet slippers. It has dark green foliage in the summer, turning brilliant shades of yellow, orange and red in fall. Drought tolerant yet likes moist, well-drained soil. Thrives in heat and responds well to pruning. Salt tolerance makes this a good choice for urban areas. A Princeton Nursery introduction.
