Plant description

Dwarf flowering cherry with a unique form due to the branching habit. The name derives from the zig zag pattern of the branches as they alternate. This underlying structure is most appreciated in the winter and in the weeks when the delicate white bell shaped flowers with a pink center are just beginning to open prior to leaf emergence. The small green leaves turn a rich rainbow of colors in the fall ranging from orange to maroon. The slow growing nature, and adaptability to a range of soil types of this attractive tree makes it ideal for use as a specimen in small spaces. A Carlton Plants introduction.
