Sikes is a dwarf Oakleaf hydrangea that is about half the size of most Quercifolias, rendering it a mainstay in the smaller garden. Abundant conical flowers begin to bloom in late June or July, gradually fading to ivory or light pink, persisting into the winter. Its handsome large broad foliage turns attractive shades of bronze, maroon, and purple in the autumn. Mature stems exfoliate, revealing a rich brown inner bark for added winter interest. Grows well in high pH soils.
