A small tree with a rounded form selected for its dense canopy and showy fruit. The bright red samaras are persistent and abundant, hanging in pairs like Dorothy’s Ruby Slippers. Foliage is dark green in summer, turning a myriad of yellow, orange and red in fall. Resistant to leaf spot. Hardy and adaptable to a range of soil types including dry, alkaline, and tolerant of urban pollution. Use as a street tree, under utility lines, or in large containers.
